Times Art Center

  • Location

Times Art Center Berlin was founded in July 2018 by the Guangdong Times Museum, a non-profit private art museum situated within the Pearl River Delta in China.

Times Art Center Berlin is the first parallel institution founded by an Asia-based art museum overseas. Operating as an independent and self-governed organization, it intends to explore new models of developing Asian contemporary art institutions both in Europe and the world — through exhibitions, research, productions, screenings, public educational programs, artist residencies and publications.

As a new experimental contemporary art space, Times Art Center Berlin embraces global cultures, following the principles of co-production and cosmopolitanism. Times Art Center Berlin promotes the presentation and discourse, in a European cultural context, of aesthetics and visions related to the "New Institutional Geography" established by the Guangdong Times Art Museum, while proactively contributing to the growing artistic ecologies of Berlin.
