GIGS is an artistic-curatorial project that critically addresses the current platform economy and the precarisation of gainful employment through flexible, location-independent and temporary jobs. As an intervention in current events, the project looks at the current promises of the new economy and its influence on political decision-makers and comments on its effects in Berlin and beyond. GIGS analyses the reproduction and refinement of social class differences through AI, the control mechanisms within automated, flexibilized work models and their substructures, and why gig work is an economic model that constantly refers to creative work and permanently intersects with artistic production conditions.
GIGS is an exhibition in two parts. The second part with Erfan Aboutalebi and Lukas Zerbst will take place in March.

GIGS ist ein künstlerisch-kuratorisches Projekt, das sich kritisch mit der aktuellen Plattformökonomie und der Prekarisierung von Erwerbsarbeit durch flexible, ortsunabhängige und zeitlich befristete Jobs auseinandersetzt. Als Intervention im unmittelbaren Zeitgeschehen setzt sich das Projekt mit den aktuellen Versprechen der New Economy und ihrem Einfluss auf politische Entscheidungsträger*innen auseinander und kommentiert ihre Auswirkungen in Berlin und darüber hinaus. GIGS untersucht die Reproduktion und Verfeinerung sozialer Klassenunterschiede durch AI, die Kontrollmechanismen innerhalb automatisierter, flexibilisierter Arbeitsmodelle und ihren Substrukturen und analysiert, warum Gig Work ein ökonomisches Modell ist, das sich ständig auf kreative Arbeit bezieht und dabei permanent mit künstlerischen Produktionsbedingungen überschneidet.
GIGS ist eine Ausstellung in zwei Teilen. Der zweite Teil mit Erfan Aboutalebi und Lukas Zerbst findet im März statt.
